The Commonwealth Pharmacists Association (CPA) is the membership organisation for pharmacists in the 56 countries of the Commonwealth. As part of our mission to improve health and wellbeing for all through empowering pharmacists and improving pharmacy care, the CPA Academy is our global empowering hub offering a range of continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities for pharmacists.
Through the CPA Academy you can access more than 100 hours of online learning material across four thematic areas – pharmacy practice, non-communicable diseases, communicable diseases and antimicrobial resistance/stewardship – including more than 60 hours of online e-courses that you can complete on demand and at your own pace.
All of our online courses come with completion certificates signed by the Chief Executive Officer of CPA to bolster your CPD portfolio and help you meet any CPD requirements. Our platform is designed to work on desktop, tablet and mobile to support learning wherever you are in the world and even in slower internet enivronments.
As well as self-directed learning, being part of the CPA Academy gets you invites to exclusive webinars throughout the year on a range of clinical topics, and you’ll be the first to hear about advanced learning opportunities or open invite in-country training events.
How do I join the CPA Academy?
You gain access to the CPA Academy by being an Individual Member of the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association. Anybody anywhere in the world can become an Individual Member of CPA, although the vast majority of our members live in Commonwealth countries.
Most of our users qualify for free membership by belonging to their national pharmacy association or pharmaceutical society. It’s quick and easy to check if you qualify for free membership – just click the button below!

If you belong to a National Pharmacy Association (also known as a Pharmaceutical Society) that has membership in CPA, you are automatically an Individual Member of CPA and remain so for as long as your NPA/Society is affiliated to us. That means you get free access to the CPA Academy and don’t need to pay anything to join.

Please note that we do periodically validate any and all claims to membership and you may lose your access to the CPA Academy, including the e-learning platform, if you are found to have made a misrepresentation about your membership.
If you are a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya (PSK), the Rwandan National Pharmacy Council, the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa (PSSA), the Royal College of Pharmacy (RCPharm) or the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA) you qualify for free membership but must contact your organisation for a unique onboarding link and cannot use the form below.

Don’t worry – you can choose to buy Individual Membership instead! You’ll get all the same access to the Academy learning platform as you would with free membership, and it costs less than $30 USD per year. We can take payment in all Great British Sterling, US Dollars, Canadian Dollars, and Australian Dollars, or arrange to send you a payment link in your own country’s currency.
