Important Notice for Learners Outside the United Kingdom

This course has been developed primarily for pharmacists practising within the UK healthcare system and reflects the structures, resources, and regulatory frameworks relevant to that context.

We recognise that some content may not directly reflect the realities of practice in your country or healthcare environment.

In particular:

  • Remote and digital consultations may not be accessible or feasible in all settings due to connectivity, infrastructure, or resource constraints. Please review this content for informational purposes and apply it where relevant to your context.
  • Referral pathways and diagnostic tools described in this course reflect UK practice and may differ significantly from those available in your country.
  • Digital patient records and diagnostic tools are referenced throughout this course. Where digital systems are not available in your setting, we encourage you to use this content to inform your understanding and refer to your own country standards and locally available resources for guidance on how this applies to your practice.

Where examples, scenarios, or visuals reflect UK-specific settings or populations, we invite you to consider how the underlying principles apply within your own practice context and patient community.

The core principles and frameworks covered in this course, including consultation skills, clinical reasoning, and person-centred communication, are transferable across healthcare settings and remain highly relevant to pharmacy practice globally.

We are working collaboratively with learners from across the Commonwealth to further develop and adapt this e-course content over the coming months, ensuring it continues to reflect a diverse range of practice settings and experiences.

If you are attending a workshop with the CPA, the scenarios and case studies will be tailored to your specific country guidance and practice context, showcasing the versatility and global applicability of the consultation framework.
